RNS510 latest maps for North America?

Anyone know of where I can get the latest Maps for North America? I beleive 2016 is currently v.11

I see plenty of threads on how to update the firmware (something i'll eventually look into) but for now, i'm rocking 5 yr old maps :( so may new roads / changed on-ramps that no longer exist etc.

So I've been running into those lovely issues where my car says i'm driving on grass, or through a lake because my maps are old. I forgot that I had signed up here and wanted to do this over a year ago, so i'm back, and seriously contemplating seeing what I can do with this headunit.

So I pressed the "Setup" button for a few seconds and was able to pull up the info on the unit which is below:


HW-Version: H61
SW-Version: 3690
Active Map Coverage: North America
Active map Supplier: Navteq
Map Version HDD: 7565


What firmware will I be able to / should i upgrade to?

What about maps? is there a more recent map update I can apply?

How to install Tom Tom Go Navigation&Traffic ((patched by DFoX) for the first time.

Instructions:

1) install the app from Google Play store. <--------DO THIS FIRST !!!!!!
2) run it, close. <----------------------------------DO THIS BUT do not download any Maps or Voices
3) uninstall from Application Manager. <-------------THEN THIS BUT do not uninstall it with The Google Store !!!!!!

Please note do not use 3rd party uninstallers only use what came with your phone or tablet......

4) install Tomtom_Go_Navigation&Traffic Patched <--NOW THIS
5) restart phone

You are ready to go now get your maps and voices.

Hi all. Is there a way to get Europe 2016 Q3 maps on my nx405e. Bought the unit, updated the maps to Q2 and 2 days later they released Q3!! Only get one update instead of free lifetime maps like all the standalone gps makers offer :(
None of the posts on here are for this head unit, would it be safe to assume that instructions for a different unit would apply to mine?

The map data and extension (s) from the Download
function ONLY in conjunction with the already modified the download ID,
-So NOT WITH YOUR OWN !!!

Update works without "firmware changing" and without "write protection"!?

You have to delete all data from your BMP and then you have to copy ALL data from the unpacked update into the root directory your BMP's

BUT FIRST save all of your original data.

After this you have to do the complete procedure again like this:

You have to download all files for the update and after this you must unpack them.
After you have saved your original files of the BMP, delete ALL files of the BMP.
formatting BPM is not necessary
Then copy ALL data („APD“, „MapRegionsPSF50“, „Navi“, „device.xml“ e.g.) from the update into the root of BMP.
DO NOT TOUCH (MODIFY) ANY FILES!

Finally you can go to your car and you will see everything is ok...?

IMPORTANT ::: USE WINRAR V 5,XX does not extract with JDownloader

How does anyone download maps from the Spyware infested sites

Hi all,

Does anyone actually trust signing up to the sites where things are downloaded from? To me they look the most dubious sites going, and i would not put my details anywhere near them.

Just interested how anyone actually downloads anything?
